Ingrid Deon is a proud Acadian and resident of West Pubnico who brings deep community roots and entrepreneurial experience to her candidacy for Acadie-Annapolis. Born and raised in the region she seeks to represent, Ingrid understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing local residents.
With a diverse professional background, Ingrid began her career as a journalist, spending five years in radio and newspaper where she developed a keen understanding of community issues and public communication. From 2007 to 2011, she served as an Outreach Officer for the Nova Scotia NDP Caucus, working directly with constituents and gaining valuable insight into effective governance and policy implementation.
Ingrid is the Founder and CEO of word-craft, an award-winning social media marketing agency headquartered in Yarmouth. Under her leadership, the company has served clients across North America while prioritizing local economic development by employing five Nova Scotians. Her commitment to creating quality jobs and building sustainable business opportunities in rural Nova Scotia demonstrates her practical approach to community growth.
Ingrid is deeply invested in preserving and promoting Acadian culture. She is the President of the Conseil acadien de Par-en-Bas (CAPEB), and has served on the boards of several prominent organizations, including Digital Nova Scotia, Yarmouth County Historical Society and the AGNS Western Branch Development Committee.
Ingrid is fluently bilingual and lives in her grandparents' former home in West Pubnico with her partner and 15-year-old son. When not working or volunteering, she enjoys knitting, swimming in the ocean and traveling.
